Jimmy Choo 15th Anniversary Crystal Collection

All that glitters...

For Jimmy Choo's 15th Anniversary Collection, renowned photographer/painter, Marilyn Minter, was tapped to do the dynamic ad campaign. In honor of 15 years, the appropriately titled, "Crystal Collection" featured the brand's signature jeweled shoes splattered with gold paint.

The result? A gold shower only possible in the gloriously fantastical world of Jimmy Choo.

Founder and CCO, Tamara Mellon says, "In celebrating our 15 years, I wanted to create a modern glamour that stands for the style and imagination of Jimmy Choo...I was inspired by vintage jewellery to add sparkling and luminous details to iconic Jimmy Choo shapes. I have long been a collector and a fan of Marilyn's work and know that she can capture the essence of my vision."

Jenni Kayne-D'Orsay Flats

Wow...sorry for the lack of posts lately!

But I'm back and I'm obsessing over a pair of JENNI KAYNE, D'ORSAY FLATS!!! The wedge heel is so fresh, and I love the color/material options:
Linen, Bone Leather, Black Croc.

I'm definitely a girl who loves her heels, but these pointed toe flats are beautiful, flattering and versatile. I may be sacrificing height, but certainly not style. :)

Madrina

This fashion line is in honor of my sister, Tina. She is beautiful, smart, and has an effortless style about her. The majority of my wardrobe, I owe to her! It doesn't matter where she shops, because it always seems to work for her. And even though she has her favorite pieces that we accuse of her always wearing, the truth is she looks just as good in an old navy tee with skinny cargos as she does in a BCBG bandage dress and high heels. But no look of hers is complete without a great pair of designer suglasses.

Mother Denim

I'm not sure about you, but I wear jeans almost every day of the week. I find it very fortunate that I can dress pretty casually at the office, which basically means jeans for me, Mon-Fri.

I am a big fan of the skinny/straight jean and would not relinquish my favorite style of denim for just any ol' denim brand.

However, after perusing the lookbook of L.A. Based denim collection, MOTHER denim, I may be changing my tune...

Soft as cashmere, in timeless silouhettes, MOTHER denim showcases 10 styles, all of which look great in their 'vintage' wash. But, I guess when you get the head designer of 7 for All Mankind (Tim Kaeding)and President of Sales at Citizens of Humanity (Lela Tillem) developing their own line, you're bound to get denim right.

Pamela Love Jewelry

I don't know when I started to associate 'talon cuff' or 'crow necklace' with jewelry staples in my wardrobe, but it was probably when I started seeing the rockin' style of New York jewerly designer, Pamela Love.

The 'rocker' aspect is warranted, Love is a drummer in a band and has collaborated with an impressive group of designers, ranging from Zac Posen (Fall 2009) to HBO "True Blood" to Spike Jonze-"Where the Wild Things Are".

Her design process often begins with creating models out of wax, which are then cast in materials ranging from brass and leather to 14-karat gold. Here are some pics from her Spring 2011 Lookbook.

Call it whimsical, dark, or moody, Love's jewerly definitely favors the exotic/tribal, rather than the flashiness of traditional costume jewerly...and apparently couldn't be more timeless.

Cate Parr-Watercolor Illustrations

I was playing with my 6 year old niece this past week and when she wanted to color, I gladly picked up a teal blue crayon and went to work on the pants on Princess Jasmine. It was then that I remembered the exquisite watercolor paintings of Cate Parr. Equal parts ethereal and romantic, these watercolors reminded me that fashion and art are inexplicably linked and if ever given the chance, to ask Ms. Parr if she ever owned a coloring book...

Headstrong for S/S11

For all of you ladies who rocked the decorative headband a la' Nicole Richie these past few seasons, it looks like you should hold onto those hair accessories for yet another season as 'hippie headband' will go hand-in-hand with the 70's vibe that is set to be prevalent this Spring.

If you're in need for an update, try a 'byzantine'-esque vibe, with yellow gold, colored stones and natural geodes.

All this gorgeous gold jewelry makes me think, "What if the Prince of Persia met Cleopatra?" What a gem (of jewelry collection) they would make.

Top options for the winter short

Tops are open to interpretation, but I favor the open-weaved sweater or a loose silk shirt.

on the street...

What a perfect mix of lady-like elegance and effortless style...Love the leather shorts and camel accents.

Winter Shorts and Tights

Wear with opaque or patterned tights to ensure the right amount of coverage. If you aren’t a fan of tights, opt for thigh-highs, but make sure the shorts are longer and a little looser to keep the look ‘winter-appropriate.’

Booties and over-the-knee boots keeps the look polished and dressy. The height of your heel depends upon the confidence of your stride.

The Winter Short...

Call me crazy, but SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) has hit me especially early this winter season and with more than a few months to go, getting dressed-up to go out in this snow and sleet has left the floors of my bedroom requiring a snow plow of their own.

Don't get me wrong. In the winter, jeans are usually my go-to staple. However, sometime over the last few months I discovered that black wool shorts are slowly giving my jeans a run for their money.

But how do you wear wool shorts without feeling too Springy/Summery? Read on to see how my winter shorts helped to temper my winter blues...at least for now :)
